Wrong Way Driver will be Charged with Vehicular Homicide

Kelvin Mejia-Romero, 32, will be charged with aggravated vehicular homicide upon his discharge from the hospital for Saturday’s 2:45 a.m. wrong way crash on I-24 West near Lickton Pike that claimed the life of Samuel Dismuke Sr., 66, of Nashville.

Mejia-Romero was traveling east in the westbound lanes of I-24 in his 2015 Nissan Rogue when he collided with a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Dismuke. Dismuke died at the scene. Mejia-Romero was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
