FOX 17 News has shown you a video of a little girl at Brookmeade Park’s homeless camp back in March.
The family tells FOX 17 News that the toddler died last week. Now, they say the Department of Children’s Services ignored their desperate plea for help before she died.
Ariel Rose was about to turn two next month.
Her grandfather, Mickey Rose, and uncle, Michael Rose, describe her as a happy and fun girl.
But Ariel had been living at Brookmeade Park for several months with her father and mother.
“How was it going in there and seeing the conditions that they were living in?” asks FOX 17 News’ Amanda Chin.
“It was traumatic. No child should be ableno child should live in those conditions,” says Michael.
Mickey says Ariel’s parents are drug addicts, and once he saw Ariel lived at Brookmeade, he called the Department of Children’s Services (DCS).
“We have tried. They don’t want to cooperate with anybody. It’s extremely annoying, especially since the child has now died,” says Michael.
