A continuing concerted precision policing effort by detectives assigned to a special robbery initiative led to the arrest of Markel Laron Lillard, 36, wanted on an outstanding felony warrant.

Lillard was taken into custody at a gas station on 1800 Jefferson Street after detectives observed him in the passenger seat of a black Honda Accord. Lillard had a Uzi Pro Pistol 9 mm firearm with a magazine underneath his seat that the driver told detectives did not belong to her.

Lillard is currently charged with probation violation, possession of a controlled substance and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He will be evaluated for federal prosecution.
