Pedestrian Killed While Crossing Dickerson Pike in Wheelchair Identified

The pedestrian struck and killed while crossing Dickerson Pike near Maplewood Trace in a wheelchair on November 2 has been identified as Hyman Miller, 68. Miller died from injuries sustained in the crash at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Tuesday.

The preliminary investigation shows Miller was outside of a crosswalk when he was attempting to travel westbound across Dickerson Pike. Miller also showed signs of intoxication at the scene.

The driver of the 2019 Kia Sportage that hit Miller was not injured in the crash.
