Majority of Stolen Guns in 2021 Taken from Vehicles

The MNPD strongly encourages Nashvillians to lock their automobile doors, secure any valuables—especially guns, and REMOVE THE KEYS.

Last year, 1,305 guns were stolen from vehicles in Nashville. More than 70% of ALL guns reported stolen in 2021 (1,852) were taken from vehicles.

Last week, 19 guns were stolen from cars and trucks.

Last year, 1,756 autos—66% of ALL vehicles reported stolen in 2021 (2,630)— were taken because keys were made available.
