A parent with a severely autistic child continues to battle Metro Schools.
Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) will not let Landon Falleur use the device that allows him to communicate during testing.
Landon Falleur is a 9th grade student who is autistic, non-verbal and needs an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
An IEP will allow him to get proper accommodations in the classroom, but his mother Angela Falleur says Metro will not let him use his letter board during those evaluations.
“We believe the letter board was a gift to his life and they see it as us basically taking him out of a good thing and putting him into something now that doesn’t line up with science,” Angela explained.
Angela says the school district told her the American Speech Language Hearing Association does not recognize the benefit of this board.
