Thomas Devine, a musician and the owner of New Breed Music Group, says parking prices has musicians thinking twice about playing in downtown Nashville.
Devine explains some bars offer a discount to pay a total of $10 for parking for the night while other bars don’t offer that, so musicians are stuck paying the downtown premium prices.
Devine parked at the Premier parking lot on Church Street.
“36 minutes, $60 with a $3 service fee, $63 for 36 minutes,” Devine emphasized.
Devine fought the cost because he says it was not the price the lot advertised. He took his parking concerns to Facebook and was surprised by the reaction from local musicians.
Zach Gonzalez, a local musician, says the parking prices downtown are very costly.
“Right behind that circuit over there, sometimes the parking can be like $40 seriously,” Gonzalez said.
