Homicide Unit Detectives Leading Investigation into Death of Woman Found Today off Gibson Drive

The woman whose body was discovered at 11 a.m. today off the roadway in the 1000 block of Gibson Drive in Madison has been identified through her fingerprints as Tabitha Ryals, 32, who is believed to have come to Nashville within the past few months from Mississippi.

A passing motorist saw Ryals’ body, which was partially covered/wrapped by a blanket, and notified police. It appears Ryals died elsewhere before her body was left off the roadway between the weekend and this morning. This case is being investigated as a homicide. The cause of death will be determined at autopsy.

Anyone seeing Tabitha Ryals Friday into the weekend is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Homicide Unit Detective Tim Skopek is leading this investigation.
