Detectives Search for Wanted Shooter in Moorewood Drive Murder

Homicide detectives have identified Jashawn Jerome Simmons, 38, as the suspected shooter in the October 3 murder of Marty Adkins, 52, in the 3500 block of Moorewood Drive.

An arrest warrant charging Simmons with criminal homicide has been issued. Efforts to locate him over the past several days have been unsuccessful.

Anyone seeing him or knowing his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.

Adkins had attended a party/gathering nearby and was walking to his Brick Church Pike residence when he was shot multiple times. A citizen found Adkins deceased in the street. Residents reported hearing gunfire around the same time.

Detective Juan Gonzalez is leading the investigation.
