Detectives Search for Suspect Responsible for Jones Avenue Homicide

Homicide detectives are searching for the man who shot 34-year-old Jadon Simon just after 5 p.m. on Jones Avenue. Simon got into an altercation with the unidentified suspect in the parking lot of Lucky 7 Discount Grocery and Tobacco. Simon was found lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Based on surveillance video investigators were able to determine the suspect fled in a white 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse that was later found abandoned on North 6th Street. Simon is believed to have arrived on scene in a black 2011 Chevrolet HHR, but the vehicle was not found on scene.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
