Detectives Pursuing Leads in 3:20 a.m. Fatal Shooting on Nolensville Pike

The 3:20 a.m. fatal shooting of a man as he drove his Chevrolet Camaro on Nolensville Pike may have been the result of a dispute earlier in the night at the San Jose Fiesta Restaurant/Club on Wallace Road.

The victim is identified as Edil Hernandez, 22, of Nashville.

The investigation shows that Hernandez, after leaving the club, was driving outbound in the 4500 block of Nolensville Pike when another vehicle passed alongside. A person in that vehicle fired shots. Hernandez was struck in the head and died at the scene.

Detectives were told that a relative of Hernandez was involved in an argument at the club earlier in the night, and that the relative left prior to Hernandez. Hernandez, according to a witness, was followed after leaving in the Camaro by persons in a red Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a second vehicle. Shots were reportedly fired from the truck and then the second vehicle that passed alongside the Camaro.

Anyone with information about the murder of Edil Hernandez, including the persons inside the red Toyota Tacoma truck, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Persons calling Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
