“Bullying is a REAL thing”, Family is angry after bullies sent an unwanted food delivery to their home and the receipt included a bullying message meant for their teenage daughter

Juvenile girl’s family said that bullies reportedly sent an unwanted food delivery to their home and the food receipt included a bullying message meant for their teenage daughter, the family said. The family was in disbelief when the order came to their home, with the family describing it as a ‘borderline hate crime’ as they demanded the bullies be held accountable. The girl’s father said he has complained to restaurant managers, both locally and at the corporate level.

According to the girl’s grandmother, Marty Postlethwait, it was Monday, May 2, when the delivery driver came to their door, FOX8 reports.

The Domino’s Pizza receipt they shared included a bullying message meant for their juvenile daughter, who was not identified. The message wrote: “when they answer say for [the teenager’s name] she gets the salad cause she fat.”

The family from Kansas was in disbelief when the order came to their home, with the family describing it as a ‘borderline hate crime’ as they demanded the bullies be held accountable.

Marty Postlethwait told FOX4: “This little girl’s feelings were crushed. There’s no I’m sorry. There’s nothing we can do. I think, to the extent they went to, this person needs to be held accountable for their actions. The sad part is — Domino’s hasn’t made it any easier for them to find out any answers.’”

Domino’s has denied the allegations that the driver read the message aloud but apologized to the family for the words on the receipt.

The girl’s grandmother believes the order was likely placed using Domino’s website, where the order form also provides a space for delivery instructions, and the bullying message appears to have been entered there, per reports.

The girl’s father said he has complained to restaurant managers, both locally and at the corporate level.

Domino’s Pizza, which is based in Michigan, released the following statement:

“We send our deepest apologies to the family impacted by this hurtful language. It is upsetting that the person who placed this order took advantage of our online ordering system in this way… We look forward to discussing this incident with the family directly.”

That statement from Domino’s said the company denies its driver read that message aloud. School district leaders said they’re hopeful this student’s family will reach out to them because this district doesn’t tolerate any kind of bullying.”

The girl’s mother Mallory Smith, wrote on Facebook:

“Bullying is a REAL thing. After receiving this delivery the other night – I am APPALLED that @dominos would actually list this in the delivery instructions.”

The female student attends school in the GESD and the family believes the abusive message comes from a fellow student.

School district officials released a statement and said the district does not tolerate any kind of bullying and hopes the family will reach out to them for help.
