Audrey Hale had emotional disorder, 7 weapons purchased legally used in Nashville shooting

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) issued an update into the investigation of a mass shooting at a Nashville private school on Monday.

28-year-old Audrey Hale of Nashville targeted The Covenant School on Monday, killing three 9-year-old children, a substitute teacher, custodian, and the head of the school.

Police have previously reported Hale was found with an Assault Rifle, 9mm rifle, and handgun when police engaged and opened fire on Hale, ending the attack. Hale died following the quick action of officers who responded to the scene.

MNPD Chief John Drake says Hale purchased seven weapons legally from five different local stores. Chief Drake said MNPD has interviewed the parents who told police she was receiving care for an emotional disorder. The parents were aware of only one gun in Hale’s possession and were under the belief it had been sold.
